DEFENDING champion Petron did a mere workout of listless Sta. Lucia, 25-9, 25-12, 25-6, to stay undefeated in the Philippine Super Liga All-FIlipino Conference on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
MIddle blockers Mika Reyes and Ging Balse-Pabayo led the way for the Blaze Spikers as they extended their winning run to six at the No. 1 spot.
Reyes had a game-high 11 points, including five aces, while Pabayo chipped in 10 markers.
“Syempre never namin i-underestimate ‘yung kalaban and kailangan ‘yung performance namin ‘yung makita namin,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos.
“Actually before ganoon kami (sumasabay sa kalaban) na which is isa ‘yun sa dine-develop namin,” he added. “Kaya sabi ko sa kanila kailangan ilaro natin kung ano ang meron tayo, hindi ‘yung magbe-base tayo sa kalaban.”
Petron had Sta. Lucia in its hands as the Blaze Spikers doubled the Lady Realtors’ attacks (37-15) and took advantage of their victim’s poor reception (12-0 service aces).
Souzan Raslan made nine points for Sta. Lucia, which remained winless in six outings.
