SISI Rondina and Bernadeth Pons fueled Petron in dominating the winless Marinerang Pilipina, 25-12, 25-17, 25-9, for its ninth straight victory in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
Rondina and Pons, the tandem that dominated the PSL Beach Volleyball challenge cup, conspired for the Blaze Spikers in making a short work of the Lady Skippers in just 78 minutes.
Rondina put up a game-high 13 points built on seven attacks, four service aces and two blocks, while Pons delivered 11 attacks for all her points on top of 14 digs.
Setter Rhea Dimaculangan paced the squad with 21 excellent sets. Ces Molina and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas had seven and six points, respectively, while Mika Reyes and Mela Tunay added five markers apiece.
Petron head coach Shaq Delos Santos had the luxury to field all of his 14 players as they earned their ninth straight win for an 11-1 win-loss record.
“Siyempre happy kasi lahat nagdeliver kasama sa game plan na makalaro lahat,” Delos Santos said. “Sabi ko nga sa second six namin syempre magprepare ok naman good preparation para sa next game namin mo.”
The Blaze Spikers dominated all scoring departments with 44-18 differential in attacking, 7-2 advantage in service and had seven kill blocks against the Lady Skippers, who didn’t score a single block.
But Delos Santos insisted to double or even triple their efforts against unbeaten leader F2 Logistics (11-0) on Thursday at theArena in San Juan City.
No Lady Skipper scored in double figures with Dimdim Pacres being the lone bright spot finishing with nine markers as they dropped their 13th straight outing.
