DEFENDING Petron had a rousing start in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference, dominating Cocolife, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Aiza Maizo-Pontillas scored 14 points, while Ces Molina had 10 markers and 14 digs as the Blaze Spikers completed the win in an hour and 31 minutes.
“Syempre happy kasi first game, first win. Hopefully mas maging consistent pa ang laro namin,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos.
It was a solid return for Molina from a stress fracture on her left shin.
“It was a great game for us straight sets namin nakuha pero hindi ganoon kadali so madami pa kaming pagdadaanan first game pa lang to and still adjusting kami sa All-Filipino,” said Molina.
Petron shares the early lead with Smart, which defeated Sta. Lucia.
Cocolife Fil-American recruit Kalei Mau debuted in the PSL with 13 points and 11 digs.
