ANTIPOLO CITY — Sisi Rondina scored 22 points as Petron dominated Sta. Lucia, 25-13, 25-10, 25-13, on Tuesday in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Sports Center.
The Blaze Spikers made it eight straight victories for a 10-1 win-loss record, second behind F2 (10-0) and well ahead of Foton (7-4).
Rondina had 18 kills, two blocks and two aces, while making seven digs in the one hour and 29-minute match.
Ces Molina scored seven, Remy Palma added six points, and Bernadeth Pons had five markers, while making seven digs. Mika Reyes was in uniform but didn’t play as she wasn’t feeling well, with Chloe Cortez filling in and scoring four points.
“Happy and satisfied pero siyempre kailangan magwork hard pa rin sa training. Ang ganda ulit ng panalo namin,” said Petron coach Shaq Delos Santos. “Hopefully, madala pa namin sa mga susunod na games.”
Petron is likely to face Sta. Lucia, sitting in seventh place with a 2-11 record, in the knockout quarterfinals.
“Sa standing ngayon baka sila yung makalaban namin siyempre paghahandaan namin sila,” Delos Santos added. “Kailangan muna namin tapusin yung last three games namin na natitira.”
Petron had 38 kills while Sta. Lucia made only 16. The Blaze Spikers fired eight aces against the Lady Realtors, who failed to score a single ace and committed 21 errors.
Nobody scored in double figures for Sta. Lucia, with Rachel Austero and Amanda Villanueva delivering seven points apiece. MJ Phillips is in the US to attend to family matters.
