PETRON arranged a finals rematch with defending champion F2 Logistics in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix after it dominated Cocolife, 25-15, 25-15, 25-16, on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
American imports Katherine Bell and Lindsay Stalzer led the way for the Blaze Spikers with 20 and 15 points, respectively.
Last year’s runner-up Blaze Spikers looked motivated to exact revenge on their tormentor Cargo Movers with a dominant performance to finish off the Asset Managers.
Game One of the best-of-three championship series is on May 1 at the Araneta Coliseum.
“Sobra sobrang paghahandaan namin ang F2,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos. “Strong team, aggressive, palaban lahat ng players nila.
“So para sa amin big challenge ‘yung nangyari last conference,” he added. “This time may opportunity kami and i-accept namin ang challenge and sana this time makuha namin.”
Petron, which needed four sets to take Game One of the best-of-three semis, doubled Cocolife’s attacks (42-21) as Rhea Dimaculangan schooled her much-experienced counterpart Tina Salak with 22 excellent sets compared to just seven.
Cocolife skipper Sara Klisura was limited to just 10 points in the match that took an hour and 25 minutes to finish.
Meanwhile, Cocolife and Foton will face off in a battle-for-third match before the finals.
