PETRON claimed the solo top spot after easily disposing erstwhile unbeaten Cignal, 25-17, 25-20, 25-23, in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at the Astrodome on Wednesday.
Still recovering from a bout with the flu, American import Alaina Bergsma banged in 23 points, and connived with Dindin Santiago (14 points) for the Blaze Spikers, who romped to their third consecutive win to remain undefeated.
What was expected to be a battle royal between two undefeated teams turned out to be a walk in the park for Petron, which only took an hour and 22 minutes to dispose Cignal.
Stalzer had 17 for Cignal, while Ammerman added 10.
The HD Lady Spikers dropped to 2-1 for a share of second spot with RC Cola Air Force.
