BACOOR CITY —Ces Molina and Sisi Rondina showed the way as Petron defeated Generika-Ayala, 25-18, 25-12, 25-16, to gain solo second spot in the PSL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Bacoor Strike Gym.
Molina scored 12 points on 10 kills and two service aces, while Rondina finished with 11 points off eight attacks, two aces and a block as the Blaze Spikers ended the Lifesavers’ win streak at four.
Mika Reyes had 10 markers, highlighted by four kill blocks, as Petron improved its win-loss record to 5-1, F2 Logistics (6-0).
Aiza-Maizo Pontillas and Remy Palma chipped in seven points each, Rhea Dimaculangan dished out 18 excellent sets, while libero Buding Duremdes had 11 digs and seven excellent receptions in the one-hour and 18-minute match.
“Nagulat ako siyempre kasi alam naman namin paano maglaro yung Generika yung tinalo nila nung ilang games competitive lahat,” Petron coach Shaq Delos Santos said.
“Sa amin sabi namin bigay talaga namin yung best namin kasi tie din kami sa standings para matest namin kung nasaan na kami ngayon.”
“These past games din, struggle din kami pero good thing yung game naman namin lumalabas na rin not totally one hundred percent but nakikita na namin na nakakagalaw na ng maayos,” he added.
Nobody scored in double figures for the Lifesavers, with Angeli Araneta finishing with nine markers. Fiola Ceballos scored five and Patty Orendain had two points.
Generika-Ayala dropped to solo third with a 4-2 record.
