RC Cola Air Force proved too much for expansion team Foton, 25-13, 25-20, 25-14, as the Raiders got back on track after a shocking opening day loss in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at the Astrodome on Wednesday.

The Raiders evened their record at 1-1 as they bounced back from their 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 loss to league leader Cignal (2-0).

Just above RC Cola at second spot is Petron (1-0).

Locals Iari Yongco and Maika Ortiz led the way for the Raiders with 12 and 11 points apiece, while American imports Emily Brown and Bonita Wise had nine and eight markers, respectively in the win which RC Cola wrapped up in just an hour and 14 minutes.

Newly designated head coach Rhovyl Verayo, who barely had a month working with the team, said the Raiders improved on their first ball reception and positional adjustments following their loss to Cignal.

“Nag-improve kami sa receive namin kasi sa first game kahit free ball na lang hindi namin ma-control tapos sa rotation nag-adjust rin kami,” said Verayo, who replaced Aying Esteban.

Russian Irina and Elena Tarasova had nine and six markers, respectively, for Foton which joined another newcomer Mane N’ Tail in the cellar (0-1).
