RAMIL de Jesus has yet to join other coaches handling a PSL Manila side that's long been in training, and the La Salle head coach is uncertain when he can visit and if he will still be part of the team when it sees action in the Women’s Club World Championship next month.

The Lady Spikers coach says he can no longer fit into his schedule the three-hour morning practice for PSL Manila.

“Ewan ko lang kung iku-consider pa ako na part ng coaching staff,” De Jesus told SPIN.ph.

Two of his players, Mika Reyes and Kim Fajardo, as well as assistant coaches Benson Bocboc and Noel Orcullo are already part of the PSL selection seeing action in October 18 to 23 showcase at the MOA Arena.

De Jesus is already having a hard time managing time as he prepares for the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix opening on October 8 and for La Salle in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament early next year.

“Sobrang busy ko eh, in-appoint na nila si coach Boc and coach Noel tapos sasama pa ako doon? Conflict ang training, 7-10 a.m. sila, training ko sa La Salle 9-12 a.m. so sobrang busy na,” said De Jesus, who conducts training for La Salle at the Enrique Razon Sports Complex inside the La Salle campus on Taft Ave.

PSL Manila training is at nearby Arellano gym on Donada st., but De Jesus says he cannot afford to sacrifice the La Salle and F2 Logistics practice.

“Akala ko naman magkakaroon ako ng time makasilip sa training, makatulong sa (PSL Manila) team,” he said.

“Pero sa situation pa ngayon puro eh bago sa La Salle, tapos sa PSL nag-give way na nga ako kasi si Kim first setter namin hindi na halos nakaka-training (sa F2 Logistics). Ganon talaga, may masa-sacrifice talaga.”

“Tulad ngayon dumating ng 11:30 ’yung dalawa (Reyes and Fajardo), eh wala na, strength and conditioning na ang mga bata (sa La Salle) tapos na ang training, gustuhin ko mang i-extend ang training ‘di pwede i-extend kasi may klase mga bata,” he added.

According to sources, De Jesus was among those considered for the PSL Manila head coaching job but he declined and was instead appointed assistant coach together with Japanese coach Shun Takahashi and Cignal mentor Sammy Acaylar, with Serbia’s Moro Branislav as head coach.

Also playing for PSL Manila are Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga of RC Cola Army, Ces Molina and Jen Reyes of Petron and Jaja Santiago of Foton are in the roster along with imports Ekaterina Krivets of Russia, Lynda Morales of Puerto Rico, Yuri Fukuda of Japan, Stephanie Niemer and Lindsay Stalzer of the United States, Tichaya Boonlert of Thailand and Yevgeniya Nyukhalova.
