F2 Logistics settled for the third place after it disposed RC Cola Army, 25-13, 25-20, 20-25, 20-25, 18-16, in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at The Arena in San Juan on Thursday.

Hayley Spelman led the Open Conference champ Cargo Movers with 26 points, anchored on 23 kills, while Aby Marano and Ara Galang joined the scoring parade with 14 and 12 markers apiece.

F2 Logistics was poised to clinch the bronze medal, 14-12, but Jovelyn Gonzaga refused to give up as she scored on an off-the-block kill and a service ace, 14-14, before RC Cola Army reached its own match point after Tina Salak blocked Galang, 15-14.

Spelman tied the contest and an error from Royse Tubino gave the Cargo Movers their second match point, 16-15, before Mika Reyes pushed the Cargo Movers to its third match point, and Holts’ kill sailed out of bounds to end the match.

“Nakauna kami ng mga first two points so ‘yun na lang ang pinanghawakan na kailangan ma-maintain ang ganoong lamang o lumayo man ng isa balik lang,” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus.

“Sabi ko huwag lang papalayuin kasi kung lumayo ang score medyo mahirap na fifth set kasi maikli lang ang set,” he added.

Holst made 21 points for RC Cola Army, while Gonzaga made 19 points and 10 digs and Tubino added 14.
