GUEST team Est Cola clobbered F2 Logistics, 25-14, 25-15, 25-17, in the Philippine Super Liga Invitational Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Thursday.

Sutadta Chuewulim scored 18 points, while Sasipaporn Janthawisut added 12 for the Thai club at the start of the four-team final phase of the tournament. The top three local teams after two stages of the tournament battle the Thai squad for the title. Army and Petron are the other two teams.

Est Cola coach Chamnan Dokmai said F2 Logistics was a good team but he knows how to neutralize the Cargo Movers’ top hitters Cha Cruz and Aby Marano, who played for the PSL All-Star team in Thai-Denmark Super League in Bangkok two weeks ago.

Dokmai’s Idea Khonkaen swept the PSL selection.

“The Philippine team they serve good, they block and counter attack,” he said.

“But I know No. 3 (Marano) and No. 11 (Cruz) they are the key players and I know what to do so that they cannot play well. When we serve good, they cannot make a good receive and they cannot execute a good play,” he added.

It was an all Est Cola show, featuring members of the Thailand youth team, with F2 Logistics managing to make it interesting only in the third when it tied the match at 17 before the Thais romped away.

“Today the system was ok, we serve and receive well because those were the key factors for us,” said Dokmai. “But in the third set, my players are young, in the first two sets they thought it was easy for us to win but in the third set I had to control them.”

Marano scored eight points, while Cruz added seven for F2 Logistics.
