Pocari, BaliPure eye share of lead with UST in V-League Reinforced Conference

SEMIFINALISTS Pocari Sweat and BaliPure clash in an elimination-round match as Customs, which has also secured a spot in the last four, takes on also-ran Air Force on Saturday in the Shakey's V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena.

The Lady Warriors and the Purest Water Defenders, in joint second at 4-1 behind University of Sto. Tomas (5-1), face off at 4 p.m. in the penultimate playdate of the eliminations.

Customs, running fourth at 4-2, is fancied to get past Air Force in the 6 p.m. match.

Pocari faces the league-leading Tigresses on Wednesday, the final day of the eliminations.

Pocari and BaliPure have both racked up four straight victories after dropping their respective opening game assignments.

“We just want to try to win as many games as we can going to the semis and maybe gain some momentum,” said Pocari coach Rommel Abella.

Imports Breanna Lee and Kay Kacsits of Pocari gear up for a showdown with BaliPure reinforcements Katherine Morrell and Kaylee Manns with locals of both squads also expected to play a key role in this crucial matchup in the league backed by Mikasa and Accel.

In the Spikers’ Turf, Instituto Estetico Manila and Army duel at 10:30 a.m. while Cignal and 100 Plus tangle at 12:30 p.m  

The Customs-Air Force match will be shown live over ABS-CBN Sports + Action and via streaming on  www.v-league.ph and the Pocari-BaliPure match will be aired on a delayed basis.
