While acknowledging disappointment with Petron loss, De los Santos says he's actually relieved
“Kapag kasi gusto mong mag-sweep napakahirap kung ‘yun ang nasa mindset mo eh unlike kung ang mindset mo one game at a time lang,” says Shaq de los Santos.

PETRON coach Shaq delos Santos considers their stunning defeat to Sta. Lucia in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix as a blessing in disguise in.

The Lady Realtors win in straight sets, dealing the Blaze Spikers their first loss in eight matches.

“Nandyan kasi lagi ang pressure kapag gusto mong i-sweep ang conference. Pressured lagi ang bawat game na kailangan manalo,” said De los Santos, who was an assistant coach to George Pascua when the Blaze Spikers scored a 13-match sweep of the 2015 All-Filipino Conference.

“Pero ngayon na natalo kami, in a way, maganda na rin kasi nawala na ang pressure sa amin and ngayon makakafocus na kami sa kung ano ang dapat naming ayusin,” said delos Santos.

“Kapag kasi gusto mong mag-sweep napakahirap kung ‘yun ang nasa mindset mo eh unlike kung ang mindset mo one game at a time lang,” he added.

Petron is now tied for the lead with defending champion F2 Logistics at 8-1.

The Blaze Spikers can still clinch a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals if they beat the Cocolife (5-3) and Smart (0-8) wins its next two matches in the classification round.
