IMUS, Cavite — Title favorite Petron breezed past, 25-18, 25-14, 25-19, on Monday at the Imus Sports Complex to close in on the 2015 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference crown.

The powerhouse Blaze Spikers stretched their unbeaten run to 12 matches and can wrap up the title in Game Two of the title series on Thursday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Hundreds turned out to pack the Imus Sports Complex, with several more outside the venue in the city’s first hosting of the PSL. But what was expected to be a tight match turned out to be a rout as the Blaze Spikers dominated all fronts.

Errors by the Lady Clickers also contributed to their early downfall, trailing by as many as 19 points, 21-3, in the second set.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat topscored for Petron with 16 points, 13 on attacks. Maica Morada had nine points and Rachel Anne Daquis finished with eight for the Blaze Spikers.

Petron coach George Pascua said he wasn't thinking of a sweep at the start of the finals series.

“Championship game ito eh. Ibang usapan na kasi eh. Magkakaroon ng game plan ang bawat coaches. Sa amin lang, mataas ang percentage na nagawa namin ang game plan namin,” Pascua said.

Cha Cruz scored 13 points for the Lady Clickers, who committed 23 errors.

Stephanie Mercado was limited to six points.

“Game plan namin na targetin silang dalawa sa receive para hindi maka-penetrate,” said Pascua.
