BATANGAS City — Coach Shaq de los Santos is very pleased with how Petron has responded after a huge early loss in the tournament, as the Blaze Spikers have made it three straight wins for second spot in the Super Liga Grand Prix,

Petron lost to league-leading F2 three weeks ago, snapping a three-match win streak but has now matched the winning run.

“Hindi ko sinasabing maganda na natalo kami, pero kasi siguro napakalaking aral para sa amin, good experience para sa lahat,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos.

“Kasi ‘yung na-experience namin doon, medyo hindi maganda, mabigat talaga para sa amin tapos out of town pa,” he added.

“Sobrang na-gauge namin ang team namin kung nasaan na and doon namin na realize na kahit pala nanalo kami ng tatlong sunod biglang na ano namin ang weakness namin,” said delos Santos.

“Hindi pa pala talaga totally buo ang team namin and doon namin nakita na ito pa ang kailangan naming gawin so napakalaking bagay sa amin,” he added.

After that loss, Petron scored big victories over winless Victoria Sports-University of Sto. Tomas, three-peat seeking Foton and Iriga City.

“We’re happy na binigay sa amin ni Lord ang ganoong bagay kasi ngayon ‘yun ‘yung pina-process namin, nasa process kami na kailangan mas ma-develop pa ang skills, mas maging solid ang performance,” said the former Far Eastern University coach.

“Kasi pagdating ng quarterfinals, one miss you die. Kaya every game sobrang importante na 'yung natitira,” he added.
