BATANGAS City — Petron sent Iriga City crashing back to earth after a straight set win, 25-12, 25-15, 25-22, in the Philippine Super Liga on Saturday at Batangas City Sports Center here.

American imports Lindsay Stalzer and Hillary Hurley each had 11 points as the Blaze Spikers extended their winning run to three.

Locals Mika Reyes, Sisi Rondina, Bernadeth Pons and skipper Ces Molina also delivered for Petron, which improved its win-loss card to 6-1.

Talagang ano, laban. Laban talaga.” he added.

Iriga City tied the score at 21 in the third on a Tamara Kmezic attack, before Molina sparked a 3-0 spurt to push the Blaze Spikers at match point, 24-21.

Molina finished with nine points, while setter Rhea Dimaculangan registered 15 of the team’s 19 excellent sets in the one hour and 22-minute match.

Serbian import Kmezic tallied 15 points for Iriga City, which dropped to 2-5 after a morale-boosting win over guest team Victoria Sports-University of Santo Tomas.
