Foton puts away Sta. Lucia to arrange semis clash vs F2 Logistics in PSL Grand Prix

FOTON swept Sta. Lucia, 25-22, 25-23, 25-19, to arrange a best-of-three semifinal clash against defending champion F2 Logistics in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.

Channon Thompson from Trinidad and Tobago put on a show  for the Tornadoes with 26 points, from 24 attacks and two aces, and 15 excellent receptions while Dindin Santiago-Manabat also had 11 points in a match that took an hour and 28 minutes to finish.

The semifinal playoffs starts on Tuesday, April 21, with Cocolife taking on Petron in the other pairing.

“Well-oiled machine ang kalaban natin pero syempre may mga lapses pa rin ‘yan so we need to pounce on those lapses,” Foton coach Rommel Abella warned his wards ahead of the playoff against F2 Logistics.

“Kung kailangan ang effort gawin triple and aggressiveness triple we will do it,” he added.

Ukrainian import Bohdana Anisova finished with 14 points for Sta. Lucia.
