FOTON tightened its grip of the top spot in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix after a straight-set win over Victoria Sports-University of Santo Tomas, 25-8, 25-22, 25-16, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.

After a 41-point explosion on Saturday, Serbian import Sara Klisura finished with 13 points for the Tornadoes, who improved to 7-1.

Foton coach Moro Branislav, though, kept his post-game evaluation brief as he felt the Tornadoes have more room for improvement in the playoffs.

“(There was) nothing special about today (match). (We wanted to) get all the bench players to play. More important that we can play better in quartfinals,” he said.

Skipper Jaja Santiago also had 13 markers, while Ivy Perez stood out in delivering 13 excellent sets for Foton, as well as scoring the point that sealed the match which took only an hour and five minutes.

Dimdim Pacres made eight points for the Tigresses, who remained winless in seven matches.
