Ramil de Jesus uneasy as unbeaten F2 Logistics yet to face adversity in PSL Grand Prix

F2 Logistics extended its unbeaten run to six after a straight set victory over Cignal in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix, but head coach Ramil de Jesus remained uneasy as his wards have so far been untested in the tournament.

The Cargo Movers are comfortably on top of the nine-team standing with a perfect 6-0 slate, losing a set only once in the process. But the veteran coach is wary of the way they have cruised to an unblemished record.

“Medyo nakakatakot kasi puro panalo,” he said after their 25-22, 25-13, 25-12, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.

“Gusto ko nga sana, gaya ng sabi ko sa inyo last time, sana manggaling kami doon sa hindi maganda tapos maka-bounce back,” he added.

Anyone in his right mind would jump for joy with an unblemished win-loss record. But de Jesus - a master tactician who steered La Salle to 10 UAAP titles in 19 years - prefers his team go through adversity early.

“Hindi pa namin na-e-experience ‘yung ganoon (matalo) so gusto namin ma-experience na galing sa ganoon and hopefully sana mas maaga, ayaw ko sa bandang huli mahirap ‘yung sa huli ka na (matatalo) tapos wala ka nang choice para makapag-adjust pa,” he said.

The former Far Eastern University outside hitter believes that one’s character can only be tested when tough situations arise.

In the case of his team right now, de Jesus, still cannot measure on how his team can handle a loss.

F2 Logistics will face three-peat seeking Foton on Saturday.
