COCOLIFE booked a trip back to the semifinals of the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix after it defeated undermanned Cignal, 25-22, 25-21, 28-26, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.

Serbian imports Marta Drpa and Sara Klisura led the way for the Asset Managers with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

The win put Cocolife at the No. 3 spot and will face No. 2 Petron in the best-of-three semifinals starting on Saturday.

“Yes, yes, I’m ready for the semifinals against Petron,” said Cocolife coach Moro Branislav.

Although it was a straight-set win, the Serbian mentor insisted that he would’ve wanted that Cignal was complete as import Sonja MIlanovic and head coach Edgar Barroga missed the game.

The Bosnian reinforcement was ruled out of the conference due to a sprained right ankle she sustained in their previous match against Generika-Ayala, while Barroga, who’s also the coach of National University boy’s volleyball team, is currently in Vigan for the Palarong Pambansa.

“Believe me I like it better if Milanovic played. It’s a total different psychology for Cignal,” said Branislav.

Stiix Horton finished with 17 points for Cignal, while skipper Rachel Anne Daquis added 12.
