CIGNAL HD tries to maintain a firm hold of second spot as it takes on lowly Generika on Wednesday in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The HD Spikers, coming off a quick three-set win over winless Foton, eye their fourth victory in five matches as they battle the Life Savers (1-3) at 2 p.m.

Mane 'N Tail, running fourth with a 2-3 win-loss card, also looks to score back-to-back wins as it takes on Foton in the 4 p.m. match. Mane ‘N Tail beat Generika in three sets in their previous match.

Petron leads the league with a 5-0 mark.

Cignal coach Sammy Acaylar, who has been getting great games from American imports Lindsay Stalzer and Sarah Ammerman, has the simple and obvious strategy of setting up their hits against the shorter locals.

"We have already studied all our teams, ang mga kalaban may mga imports din 'yan na magagaling," said Acaylar.

"But we are going to attack on their weakness, which is 'yung locals nila kasi maliliit that's why doon naka-focus ang set plays namin," he added.

In the men's play, Cavite and Bench-Systema try to bounce back from losses as they clash at 6 p.m.

The Patriots Fourbees hold an even card 1-1 after they bowed to Cignal, 18-25, 16-25, 26-24, 16-25, while Bench-Systema lost its opening match.
