PETRON looks to exact revenge as the Blaze Spikers take on the Cignal HD Spikers for the second time in two weeks in the Super Liga All Filipino Conference on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.

The Blaze Spikers and the HD Spikers are tied for second spot at 3-1 behind Foton, who holds a 4-0 win-loss mark in Pool C.

The match starts at 7 p.m.

“Patindi nang patindi ang magiging labanan,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos, whose team suffered a four-set loss to Cignal in the first round.

Petron has since won two straight matches, downing Sta. Lucia and Generika, but Delos Santos urges the Blaze Spikers to do even better against the HD Spikers.

“Hopefully next game mas aggressive pa kami, ‘yung eagerness namin na makuha every set, every point kailangan 100 percent and ibibigay namin,” he said.

He expects his team led by skipper Ces Molina and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, who led the way in the four-set win over Generika-Ayala, to get more support from Mika Reyes, Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons.

“Basta kami ibibigay namin ang best namin,” he said. “Pag-aaralan namin sa practice kung ano ang kailangan namin gawin, check namin sa video kung saan pa kami may kulang.”

Focus is again on Cignal star Jovelyn Gonzaga, who scored 16 points, 14 on attacks, in the win over Petron, while Rachel Anne Daquis and Royse Tubino are also expected to deliver big numbers.
