PETRON Blaze further stacked up its already powerhouse roster in the Philippine Super Liga.

The Blaze Spikers added former college star Aby Marano to its lineup in their bid to win a second straight title in the fledgling volleyball league.

Petron stalwart Fille Cainglet-Cayetano welcomed the former La Salle captain to the team through her Twitter account, where a photo of her and Marano was likewise posted.

"Welcome to the team @abymarano ! #Petronblazespikers," wrote Cainglet-Cayetano on her @FilleIsFly Twitter account.

Incidentally, Maraño and Cainglet-Cayetano were once rivals in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.

Marano was team captain of La Salle while Cainglet-Cayetano was part of Ateneo’s Fab Five. Another former Lady Eagles star, Gretchen Ho, is also part of the Petron side.

The Lady Spikers twice beat the Lady Eagles in the Finals when the two players were still active.

Maraño suited up for Generika in the 2014 PSL Grand Prix when the team finished runner up behind Petron.
