PHILIPPINE Super Liga is set to name the first two of the seven players that will be part of the team representing the country in the FIVB World Women’s Club Championship on October 18 to 23.

PSL president Tatz Suzara, who’s also a marketing and development committee chairman of the AVC and member of the FIVB, will make the announcement on Thursday to the two volleybelles that will join five other locals and seven foreign players in the six-day tournament that will be held in the MOA Arena.

“On Thursday before the second game, I will hand the 'golden ticket' to the first two lucky players,” said the PSL official.

Games on Thursday will be Standard Insurance Navy against RC Cola Army at 4:00 p.m. followed by the clash between F2 Logistics against Generika at 6:00 p.m.

Suzara, however, gave no hint about players who made the cut after an extensive tryout held Friday at The Arena in San Juan that drew 27 standouts in the PSL, including RC Cola-Army veteran setter Tina Salak.

Salak was part of the national team that won bronze in the 1993 and 2005 Southeast Asian Games but she begged off to be included in the roster and was instead assigned as part of the coaching staff.

The Philippine club team will face seven of the world’s best clubs teams including 2016 European Champion Pomi Casalmaggiore of Italy, 2015 Asian Champion Bangkok Glass of Thailand, 2016 South American powerhouse Rexona Ades Rio of Brazil, Volero Zurich of Switzerland, Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul and Vakifbank Istanbul of Turkey. The last wildcard entry is yet to be named.
