FOTON star Dindin Santiago-Manabat suffered a grade two MCL strain and a partial ACL tear on her left knee, based o the initial assessment of an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) done on the volleyball star.
Tornadoes team manager and Dindin's older sister Diane Santiago confirmed the initial findings on the 6-foot-2 spiker, but added the final result will only be released on Monday.
"Initial assessment po is grade two MCL strain and partial tear sa ACL, pero papa-check pa namin ang resulta sa doctor kasi hindi pa po 'yun ang final reading," said Santiago.
"Tomorrow pa po lalabas ang final reading ng MRI," she added.
To keep the injury from getting worse, Santiago said that it's best for the Foton team captain to sit out for the remainder of the Belo-Philippine Super Liga Invitational Conference.
Santiago-Manabat twisted her left knee after an awkward landing late in a win over Sta. Lucia on Thursday.
Foton advanced to the final round and will be up against Japanese guest team Kobe Shinwa University on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
