PETRON star Mika Reyes shrugged off the bruise under her left eye she sustained during a championship-like match against Foton in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
The match, which was eventually won by the Blaze Spikers, 25-21, 25-22, 12-25, 25-20, was so intense that the former La Salle charmer got cut and she didn't have a clue how it happened.
“Hindi ko rin alam actually, hindi ko-feel until sinabihan ako sa serve sa first set,” she said of the incident when she got checked by the Blaze Spikers' medical personnel as she was about to serve while Petron was ahead, 19-14.
“Sabi (sa akin), ‘okay ka lang?’ Tapos na-feel ko pumipitik na ang mata ko, guma-ganoon tapos noong pinunasan ko dumugo,” she added.
Still, Reyes played though it and finished with four points in the match that took almost two hours to finish. Afterwards, the Petron middle blocker assured that there’s nothing to worry about.
“Good thing walang something, na-cut lang siya. Feeling ko nga may black eye ako bukas eh,” she kidded.
“Not a big deal naman. Wala, wala lang ‘to,” she added.
