COCOLIFE ripped Cherrylume, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19, to finish third in Pool D in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Baliwag Star Arena in Bulacan.
The Asset Managers scored only their second win in six outings and will face Cignal, the No. 2 seed, in Pool C in the quarterfinals.
Michele Gumabao had 11 points, while Shannen Palec added nine markers for Cocolife, which had 34 attack points against 19 by Cherrylume.
“We had some lapses in our communication in our past few games. I hope we could resolve that now that we’re entering the quarterfinals. We still have a lot of things to work on,” said Gumabao.
Skipper Mary Ann Mendrez had 11 points for the Iron Lady Warriors, whose lone set win came at the expense of Cocolife in their first meeting.
Cherrylume is winless in sixth outings and will face Pool C leader Foton in a do-or-die quarterfinal match.
F2 Logistics will take on Generika-Ayala, while Petron will face Sta. Lucia Realty in the other quarterfinal pairings.
