Double celebration as Baron named PSL Invitationals MVP after F2 title defense

Baron leads awardees in season-ending tournament as Rondina, Maizo-Pontillas take home consolation

F2 Logistics star middle blocker Majoy Baron was crowned as Philippine Superliga Invitationals MVP after its title-clinching five-set victory over rival Petron on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Baron shone the brightest among the best seven of the Invitational Conference as she earned her first MVP plum in the league.

The Best Blocker of Asean Grand Prix also won the 1st Best Middle Blocker along with 2nd Best Middle Blocker of Roselyn Doria of Cignal.

The former La Salle star is the fifth Cargo Mover win the MVP after Ara Galang won it in the 2018 Invitational, Venezuelan MJ Perez in 2017 Grand Prix, Dawn Macandili in the 2016 All-Filipino Conference and Kalei Mau in the previous All Filipino.

Petron had three individual awardees despite another runner-up finish in the conference.

Sisi Rondina earned the Best Scorer and 1st Best Outside Spiker. Aiza Maizo-Pontillas brought home the Best Opposite Spiker, while Angel Legacion was the Best setter.

Two players from Foton were recognized with skipper Shaya Adorador winning the 2nd Best Outside Spiker, while Jen Reyes won the Best Libero plum.
