LINDSAY Stalzer and Hillary Hurley came up big down the stretch as Petron clobbered Sta. Lucia Realty, 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20 in the Chooks to Go-Philippine SuperLiga Grand Prix on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Stalzer led all scorers with 30 points on 22 spikes, six service aces and two blocks as the Blaze Spikers got off to a rousing start to the conference.
Hurley had 18 points, including three that doused the Lady Realtors' comeback hopes.
"May mga na-encounter pa ring problems sa passing. Buti na lang naka recover kami," said Petron coach Shaq de los Santos.
Stalzer and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas sparked a Blaze Spikers that put them ahead 22-15 lead, before a couple of errors and a pair of spikes from MJ Philips got the Lady Realtors to within four, 20-24.
That was when Hillary Hurley took charge and delivered three killer blows for the final score.
"Yung passing namin then yung communication nawala uli. Naging seryoso pero nawala focus sa laro. Kelangan namin i-overcome yun. Dapat nagkakaintindihan kami," De los Santos said.
Anisova Bohdana scored 18 and Philips had 16 points for Sta. Lucia.
