PETRON dominated Cocolife, 25-19, 25-21, 25-22, on Thursday to gain a share of the lead in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at The Arena in San Juan.
Lindsay Stalzer scored 13 points from 11 kills, one block and one service ace as the Blaze Spikers cruised to their fourth straight win, improving to 7-1 to tie the Foton Tornadoes.
“I told them not to underestimate ang kalaban kasi nagre-ready ‘yan,” Petron coach Shaq de los Santos reminded his wards.
“Plano namin is magkaroon kami ng magandang morale entering the quarterfinals,” he added.
The seeding for the quarterfinals will be determined after the match between F2 Logistics (6-1) and Iriga City (2-5) on Saturday.
A win by the Cargo Movers will earn them the No. 1 spot while relegating the Blaze Spikers to the No. 2 spot and a knockout quarterfinal match with the Iriga City Oragons.
“Tingin ko ready na 'yung team namin for the quarterfinals,” said delos Santos. “Pero kailangan naming mag-step up, may mga lapses pa kami.”
The Asset Managers dropped to 3-5.
