COACH KungFu Reyes says he has made it clear that Eya Laure cannot see action for Foton in the Super Liga until she is back in top shape.
The UST coach said he is happy to see the UAAP Rookie of the Year get signed to a deal in the semi-professional ranks, but said the young star can’t see action right away.
“Good for her,” said Reyes on Eya. “Parang ni-lockdown lang nila kasi maraming gustong kumuha sa kanya.”
Laure, who sprained her left ankle in the second match of the best-of-three UAAP title showdown with Ateneo but went on to play the full series, was still in a walking boot when Foton took a team photo for the PSL All-Filipino Conference set to open on June 15.
“Di siya maglalaro totally hangga’t di maayos ang paa,” Reyes said.
Eya joins sister EJ in the Tornadoes squad along with sisters Jaja Santiago and Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Mina Aganon, Marian Buitre and Justine Dorog.
Reyes also believes the Laure sisters playing together in the commercial league will help as they prepare for their UAAP reunion.
“Malaking tulong yun kasi siyempre para mas maging motivation ni EJ lalo para bumalik,” said Reyes.
“Babalik naman yun. Inuunti-unti kasi binubuo ulit ang volleyball muscle kasi wala pa. Parang Michael Jordan yun na natengga eh,” he said.
