KIM Dy happily returned to action for F2 Logistics after being sidelined for five months due to her right knee injury but she still eyeing to regain her top form this 2019 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference.

“It feels good to be back kasi I've waited for this for a very long time. As in five months din akong hindi nakalaro, as in bola,” said Dy after her much-anticipated return. “So, ngayon, super excited and I'm happy na nakasama ko ulit sila ate Joy (Baron), si ate Aby (Marano) sa loob ng court.”

Dy made a convincing comeback scoring seven points, starting in all three sets, as the Cargo Movers made short work of Generika-Ayala, 25-12, 25-21, 25-17, on Saturday at the Arena in San Juan City.

But the former De La Salle star’s first game back in the PSL, since missing the whole previous Grand Prix, is just a reminder that she has a lot to improve on.

“Still needs improvement. Feeling ko hindi ko pa one hundred percent 'yun. So, magi-improve pa ko sa training and magse-strengthening pa ako,” said the ex-national team member, who competed in the Asian Games Jakarta last year.

F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus had the same assessment on Dy but he knows she’ll get back on her top shape at the right time.

“Wala pa mababa pa yung laro ni Kianna kasi ngayon pa lang nakabalik ng training yan.

Matagal na nahinto,” De Jesus said. “Ngayon di pa makahawak ng maayos ng bola, pero napaparactice naman yun tsaka yung bata naman masipag sa training.”

Dy, whose tendon got thinner and needed to be stitched together, admitted that the recovery process was a bit frustrating after her squad played undermanned in the Grand Prix but still managed to force do-or-die Game 3 only to fall at the helm of Petron anew.

“Kasi sa therapy, you really need patience. Kasi nasa loob ako ng therapy room at nakikita ko sila sa labas naglalaro,” she said. “So, parang nakaka-frustrate na I really want to play with them na pero hindi pa pwede. E kailangan e. Kapag pinush ko naman na hindi pa okay 'yung tuhod ko, baka mas lumala rin.”

Now that she’s feeling great, the 5-foot-11 opposite spiker is looking to strengthen and keep herself healthy until she peaked on her top form.

“Feeling ko it's all in the mind na injured ako,” Dy said. “So, itutuloy-tuloy ko na 'yung pag-strengthen ko ng knee kasi hindi naman porke't na naglalaro ako na isa-stop ko 'yung therapy ko kasi kailangan tuloy-tuloy rin 'yun.
