KENDRA Dahlke continued her fine play and PLDT Home Fibr defeated skidding Foton, 25-16, 27-25, 22-25, 26-24, on Thursday in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Dahlke led the fourth-set pullaway, scoring five in a 6-2 run that gave the Power Hitters a 22-16 lead on the way to their fifth win in nine mathes.
Grace Lazard scored 25 points off 16 kills, six service aces and three blocks while making 11 digs.
Dahlke had 18 hits, Rysa Devanadera scored 12 and Aiko Urdas added 11.
PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb was not very pleased, though, noting that errors allowed Foton to threaten in the third and fourth.
“Lagi ko sa kanila nireremind yan yug service error we were leading by 24-19, nag service error si Grace, ayun dun na nagumpisa ang Foton,” Gorayeb said. “Pero okay lang kasi yung mga bata kasi nakarecover ng maaga pangit lang yung pagkatalo namin nung third set.”
The Power Hitters next face the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers (6-1) on Saturday at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan.
Foton suffered its eighth straight loss and sit at the bottom with a 1-8 record.
Milagros Collar and Courtney Felinski combined for 40 points, while Mina Aganon had nine points, 11 digs and 11 excellent receptions.
The Tornadoes take on the Cignal HD Spikers (5-3) on Thursday next week.
