KALEI Mau is thrilled to be in the Super Liga finals for the first time, and is hoping close friend Alohi Robins-Hardy would also be there to see action.

Mau, playing in her first conference with F2, is rooting for Robins-Hardy and the Cignal HD Spikers in the semifinals against favored Petron, a series that has been stretched to a decider.

A Cignal victory will prevent a seventh straight Petron-F2 Logistics title series, and will set a Mau and Robins-Hardy faceoff after parting ways following the disbandment of United Volleyball Club.

“I'm excited for it and I think it's gonna be the most memorable time of volleyball in my career,” said the Fil-Am hitter.

The title series starts on Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

“I'm rooting for my sister Alohi, she's awesome. Alohi is such a great athlete and she really separates from eveyone else. The way that she plays, the way she sees the court,” said Mau on her fellow Hawaiian. “I'm actually really looking forward to that. Honestly, that's my prediction. Alohi doesn't stop for nothing, she's a competitor.”

The national team pool member was hardly surprised when Cignal came back from a 1-2 match deficit, with Rachel Anne Daquis leading the way in the come-from-behind victory.

“Anything can happen right now. I know Cignal is hungry,” Mau said. “I've watched both of their match-ups and it's a close one. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Cignal comes to play and something happens.”

But if Petron prevails, the University of Arizona standout vows to display the same eagerness and excitement.

“Same thing. I got to rest up and I got to be on my game, hundred percent and I got to go hard every single point,” she said.

“Good luck to both teams. They really have to play great defense. You never gonna know know what's going to happen,” Mau said.
