F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus tagged Kalei Mau as the missing piece to their puzzle after past runner-up finishes.

The prized recruit lived up to the expectations as she played a key role in finally ending the Cargo Movers’ three-year title-drought with a masterful three-set win over Cignal in Finals Game Two of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Siya lang yung kulang ng team para makabalik kami sa ganitong situation,” said De Jesus on the newly-crowned MVP.

After United Volleyball Club disbanded before the All-Filipino Conference kicked off, several teams offered Mau in her sudden free-agency but she decided to join the Cargo Movers just days before the conference.

That moment was the biggest blessing for De Jesus.

“Laking pagpapasalamat ko rin sa kanya kasi sa dami ng team na nagoffer sa kanya sa F2 siya nagpunta,” he said.

Despite Mau’s consistent dominant conference, the now four-time PSL champion coach still attributed their success to the stacked roster bannered by Aby Marano, Ara Galang, Majoy Baron, Kianna Dy, Kim Fajardo and Dawn Macandili.

“Well yung F2 naman is F2 forever naman na nandun yun, even nandun si Mau, lalaro yung mga players ready naman yun,” said De Jesus.

The Filipina-American Mau also thanked her teammates for making her feel at home as she won her first PSL title.

“I really want to give it up to my teammates, you know. I gotta always look back and see where I started at and now how I got here,“ said Mau, who finished with 19 points in the title-clinching three-set victory. “So, I'm really thankful and this is such an undescribable feeling. I actually never felt this way before, so much love, so much support. It's such a great accomplishment for me and my team.”

After a successful conference bagging the MVP, Best Scorer and most importantly, the All-Filipino title, Mau is staying hungry to win more for the Cargo Movers.

“I'm just gonna go in every conference and every game like I want to win it. So, it's gonna be awesome,” Mau said. “I've already found my spot and my role on the team. And I'm really excited to continue competing with these girls. So, every game, I'm gonna want to win.”
