FRUSTRATION is starting to mount for RC Cola-Air Force skipper Judy Ann Caballejo as losses piled up for the Raiders in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix.
After a winning start to the campaign against Meralco, RC Cola-Air Force has crashed back to earth with five consecutive losses that has left the Raiders wallowing in fifth spot.
As team captain, Caballejo said she can’t help but feel disappointment over what she rued as the team's lack of intensity during games.
“Sobrang depressed, kasi para kaming elementary tinambakan kami ng ganoon lang. ‘Yung drive to win nawala, hindi kami nagkakaisa,” she told Spin.ph.
“Sa ngayon oo frustrated kasi sunud-sunod ang talo namin,” she added.
The former University of Santo Tomas ace shared she tried to lift her teammates’ morale after each loss, but rued the pep talk has so far fallen on deaf ears.
They had a chance to win their second match against Philips Gold after taking a two-set lead, only to fade in the end.
“Every game na talo kami, pinag-uusapan namin ang kailangan namin gawin,” she said. “Kaya lang pagdating sa court nawawala na ‘yung pinag-usapan, so wala na rin.”
The Raiders leader also rued how they gave away 23 points to Foton courtesy of their miscues in a 25-14, 25-13, 25-16 defeat on Tuesday.
“Errors namin yung nagpanalo sa kalaban,” said Caballejo. “Sa isang set, lampas ng 10 ang errors namin," she said. "Ang hirap nang habulin noon kasi pag nag-eerror ka ng eerror syempre ‘yung confidence mo nawawala na, kasi ‘yung lahat ng ginagawa mo mali na lang parati di na masaya sa loob ng court.”
PSL will have a one-week break and will resume on November 8 and Caballejo will take advantage of the opportunity to get back on track and regain their confidence.
“Mahaba-haba ang break namin, mahaba-habang preparation. Sana ma-overcome namin ang sakit sa mga talo namin,” she said.
“Siguro kailangan lang namin manalo ng isa para mabalik ang trust and confidence namin sa isa’t-isa,” she added.
