CIGNAL star Jovelyn Gonzaga was stretchered off the court after an awkward landing during a match against F2 Logistics in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
The national team member fell to the floor in pain, holding on her right knee after a bad landing following a spike with the HD Spikers down a set and trailing the Cargo Movers, 21-13.
Gonzaga, who was crying in pain, said she heard a pop on her knee the moment she landed.
“She said she was painful (but) we don’t know if it’s an ACL or MCL (injury) or both,” said PSL official Dr. Ian Laurel. “She said she heard a pop when she landed.”
“She has no prior history of the injury and sometimes kasi ‘yung fear din nandoon,” he added.
Gonzaga was immediately rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center after medics attended to her inside the locker room.
