GRETHCEL Soltones led Foton to a straight-set win over Coco Life, 25-16, 25-17, 25-13, in the Belo-Philippine Super Liga Invitational Conference on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
The former San Sebastian ace and three-time NCAA MVP finished with 11 points, built on 10 kills, for the Tornadoes, who bounced back from a five-set loss to Cignal in the conference opener.
“Coco Life is a new team. They have good players, but we are more experienced,” said Foton coach Moro Branislav.
The Serbian mentor utilized his arsenal with Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Maika Ortiz firing nine points apiece, while Mary Grace Berte added eight markers.
Former La Salle stars Wensh Tiu and Michele Gumabao had 11 points apiece for Coco Life, which remained winless in two outings.
