F2 Logistics new import Hayley Spelman deflected the credit despite drawing praise from coach Ramil de Jesus after the Cargo Movers bagged their first win after three outings in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix.

The American import exploded for 30 points in her debut as F2 Logistics turned back Cignal, 21-25, 25-11, 24-26, 25-18, 15-11, on Thursday night at The Arena in San Juan.

The veteran mentor, who paraded a complete lineup for the first time in three games, was comforted that he was able to find the right mix for his team, especially with Spelman in the middle. But the 25-year-old former USA juniors team member played down her role in the breakthrough win.

“It’s been great my teammates are awesome, I love them we worked really hard and I’m glad we got our first win,” she told

“(But) I’d like to say that it took the whole team to win a game,” she added. “So maybe I got more sets but I couldn’t have done it without my teammates.”

The Cargo Movers scored more than double of the HD Spikers’ service aces (17-8), while setter Kim Fajardo dished out 22 of the team’s 27 excellent sets in the match that took two hours and three minutes to finish.

“They did a great job passing and serving and also putting the ball away when they were given the chance so it was a team effort,” said Spelman, who scattered her offense from 23 kills, two blocks and five aces.

“I’ve been with the team for a month now and the team chemistry is good. It was our first game so we had some kinks but I’m very confident that it’s gonna smooth out,” she added.

F2 Logistics, which finally barged in the winning column (1-2) at the fourth spot, will face listless Generika on Saturday.
