    Only 'peace and love' for Soltones after being handed one-year ban, P50K fine by PSL

    GRETHCEL Soltones refused to comment on the one-year suspension and the P50,000 fine slapped on her by the Philippine Super Liga for seeing action in a rival league's All-Star game.

    The sanction was handed down on the Iriga star after she played in the All-Star charity game of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) on October 29, which PSL officials said is in breach of their one-league policy.

    When pressed for comment, the former San Sebastian star

    “Wala, I don't want to say something for now. Just peace and love. Mananahimik muna ako (sa) media,” Soltones told SPIN.ph.

    PSL’s One League Policy states that no player will be allowed to play in other leagues while under contract with a PSL club team.

    However, collegiate players are allowed to suit up in other leagues provided they play for their mother schools.

    Meanwhile, Iriga mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen has appealed Soltones’ case and the league will have an emergency meeting on Tuesday to tackle the issue.

    The Oragons are set to face unbeaten Foton on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
