AFTER Foton’s back-to-back title run in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix, team owner Rommel Sytin is looking at options on how to bolster the roster as the Tornadoes prepare for the Asian Women's Club Championship in Kazakhstan to represent the Philippines next year.
Sytin bared to SPIN.ph some of the team’s preparation plans, which includes holding a training camp abroad and getting some additional players.
"Pag-uusapan pa naman ni coach Moro (Branislav if may training abroad), we will also retain the whole team plus maybe get some more players and we will try to win some games sa Asian," said Sytin.
Foton coach Branislav said in an earlier interview that he's not yet aware whether the management will retain his services, but Sytin confirmed that the Serbian mentor will stay put for the AWCC and until the next PSL season.
"Siya pa rin ang coach namin kasi I want to bring this team to the next level sana para we can win some international games," said the team official.
Meanwhile, the 2016 PSL Grand Prix champions, led by American imports Lindsay Stalzer and Ariel Usher along with locals Dindin and Jaja Santiago, power hitters Sisi Rondina and EJ Laure, middle blockers Angeli Araneta and Maika Ortiz, setters Rhea Dimaculangan and Ivy Perez, hitters Carol Cerveza and Patty Orendainand liberos Bia General and Kara Acevedo, have a reward waiting for them.
But Sytin refused to reveal what’s in store for the Tornadoes as he wants to tell the team first.
"Ang fighting spirit namin is one of a kind and we have a good coach also. They will definitely get a reward but I want to tell them myself. It's a surprise," he said.
