GENERIKA -Ayala took down Sta. Lucia, 25-12, 25-23, 28-26, for its third straight victory on Tuesday in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Cadiz City Arena.
Fiola Ceballos scored 10 points, all coming from kills, while team captain Angeli Araneta and Patty Orendain chipped in nine and eight points, respectively, as the Lifesavers joined idle Petron in second place on 3-1 win-loss records.
Libero Kath Arado contributed 18 digs and five excellent receptions, while Jamie Isabelle Lavitoria had 15 excellent sets in front of a roaring Negrense crowd.
“We had a strong start but we struggled in the second and third sets. Good thing was, the girls hung tough and completed those comebacks,” said Lifesavers head coach Sherwin Meneses
Generika-Ayala needed to fight back from a 19-22 deficit in the second frame and trailed by 15-19 in the third before putting away Sta. Lucia, which suffered its fourth straight loss.
Generika-Ayala battles Cignal this Thursday in Silay City.
