Eya Laure revived Foton's flickering semifinal hopes, taking over in a 25-27, 25-15, 25-22, 25-11 victory over Sta. Lucia in the Philippine Superliga Invitationals on Thursday at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center in Bulacan.
The rookie sensation from University of Santo Tomas scored 19 points on 16 attacks, two aces and a block in her finest game in the PSL as Foton caught Sta. Lucia at No.2 in Pool D on 2-3 win-loss records behind F2 Logistics (3-1).
Shaya Adorador unloaded 15 points while Mina Aganon and Marian Buitre chipped in 12 and 11 markers, respectively. Setter Gyzelle Sy had 20 excellent sets and 17 digs.
Libero Jen Reyes took care of the floor defense with 23 digs and 12 excellent receptions.
“Siguro dito rin tataas 'yung morale ng team kasi talagang sabi ng coach namin, hindi naman nakakalimot magpaalala sa amin na must win talaga 'yung games namin ngayon,” said Reyes.
MJ Phillips carried the load for the Lady Realtors with 16 points while Pam Lastimosa had 13 points with 14 digs and five excellent receptions.
However, Sta. Lucia was weighed down by 29 errors.
