FOTON survived a tough stand by Sta. Lucia, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 28-26, to finish the first round of the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on a high note on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
American import Brooke Kranda had a game-high 30 points from 23 kills, one block and six service aces for the former two-time champions, who ended the first round with a 3-4 win-loss card.
By finishing in fourth spot, the Tornadoes were bracketed in Pool B with No. 2 F2 Logistics, No. 5 Cignal and No. 7 Generika-Ayala for the second round.
“Shaky but we’ll take it. A win is a win but hopefully maging platform ‘to for good things to come in the second round,” said Foton coach Rommel Abella.
“Minor adjustments na lang (sa second round) kasi nakalaban naman na rin namin lahat,” he added.
