F2 LOGISTICS ended the first round with a 25-11, 25-22, 25-17 victory over Smart on Thursday in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
Majoy Baron led the Cargo Movers with 15 points off 11 kills, two blocks and as many as service aces as F2 scored its fifth win in seven matches.
Aby Maraño delivered 10 points, Ara Galang had nine hits and made 12 digs and 10 receptions, while Kianna Dy also scored nine in the 70-minute match.
Kim Fajardo added seven markers while making 29 excellent sets, and Cha Cruz-Behag also scored seven.
F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus remains concerned with players’ health as they enter the second stage of the tournament.
"Hindi ako sobrang happy kasi maraming in-pain,” De Jesus said. “So, 'yun naman 'yung kahit ma-sweep 'yung first round pero hindi naman healthy 'yung team mo, nakakatakot din.”
Nobody scored in double figures for Smart, with Jerrili Malabanan leading the way with eight points.
The Giga Hitters suffered their third loss to end the first round in sixth place with a 2-5 card.
