LINDSAY Stalzer put up 29 points and nailed the clutch hits in the fourth set to lift F2 Logistics to an 25-14, 17-25, 25-16, 25-22 victory over PLDT Home Fibr to take Game 1 of their best-of-three semifinals series in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix on Tuesday at Arena in San Juan City.

As the Power Hitters, led by import Grace Lazard, put up a gallant stand in the fourth set, tied at 22, Stalzer came to the rescue scoring three straight points to put the Cargo Movers a win away from clinching their third straight Grand Prix Finals berth and their seventh overall Finals appearance since joining the league in 2016.

The two-time Grand Prix Most Valuable Player had 24 attacks, three service aces and a pair of blocks. Her fellow import MJ Perez was also instrumental with 19 points including 15 digs and nine excellent receptions, while Aby Marano and Ara Galang added 11 and nine markers, respectively.

F2 Logistics head coach Ramil de Jesus praised Stalzer as she bucked her frustrations from the second set loss and lifted the team in the succeeding sets.

“Actually nung second set ayaw na niya paluin yung bola nafufrustrate na siya. Sabi ko lang, ‘We need your leadership and maturity as an import doon siguro medyo nagising siya,” Stalzer said. “Pagdating nung third set iba na kinilos. Alam naman niya yung trabaho niya.”

The Cargo Movers try to sweep the series on Thursday.

Following a decisive first set win, the Cargo Movers stumbled in the second set before getting their acts together in the third and fourth set.

De Jesus admitted that their sluggish second set was on the inconsistent plays of setter Alex Cabanos, who is filling in the big shoes of Kim Fajardo due to conference-ending finger injury.

“Wala akong problema sa spikers my problem is the consistency of Cabanos. May times na okay pero may times na di umaabot sa spikers,” he said.
