F2 Logistics sent Foton crashing back to earth with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-23 demolition to extend its unbeaten run to nine games in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Arena in San Juan City.

Kalei Mau and Aby Maraño showed the way for the Cargo Movers to outplay sisters Jaja Santiago and Dindin Santiago-Manabat and halt the Tornadoes’ six-game winning streak.

Mau delivered 15 points off 12 kills, a pair of aces and a block. Maraño chipped in 11 points. Galang had nine points including 12 digs and six excellent receptions, while birthday girl Kianna Dy added eight markers.

As F2 Logistics stayed unbeaten with an immaculate 9-0 win-loss record, head coach Ramil De Jesus said that beating a tall and strong Foton side is a huge achievement for them.

“Alam naman natin na yung Foton malalim yung bench niyan hindi biro yung height. Alam nila kung ano yung advantage nila, namamaximize nila yun,” said De Jesus. “So kung mastraight sets yung Foton, Wow! Talagang pinaghirapan ng team.”

“Maganda yung first two sets kasi parang hindi ready yung Foton and then nung third set medyo gamble na sila and nagadjust sila ng rotation,” De Jesus said. “Sa side naman namin magandang test yun para pag dumating yung time na kapag close yung fight makikita mo kung nararattle o kung paano mabubuo yung composure.”

Foton put up a gallant fight in the whole third set before Galang’s block on Shaya Adorador and service ace following Mau’s strong cross court hit that gave a 24-22 breather for F2 Logistics but Santiago blocked Baron to save a point, the 6-foot-5 star tried to force a deuce but her attack went outside.

Foton called for a video challenge but Santiago’s attack was clearly off the mark that completed the three-set conquest of F2 Logistics.

Santiago had 11 points, while Manabat was limited to just seven markers including 10 digs as the Tornadoes stayed at No.3 despite sliding to 7-4 record.
