F2 Logistics exacted revenge on Petron and bagged its first Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix title with a 25-20, 25-19, 20-25, 25-18 victory in the series decider on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Venezuelan import Maria Jose Perez scored 24 points to tow the Cargo Movers, who lost the opener of the best-of-three finals on Tuesday. Perez was named MVP.
“Alam naman natin na ang Petron mahirap kalaban, halos lahat ng talented players nasa kanila,” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus.
“Pero mas ginusto lang ng players ko manalo kita naman nung Game Two, down kami 9-0 sa fourth set, sinong mag-aakala na makakabangon pa ang team ko,” he added.
Cha Cruz delivered in the clutch once again and wound up with 16 points, eight digs and 12 excellent receptions for F2 Logistics.
American reinforcement Kennedy Bryan also scored 12 and second best middle blocker Majoy Baron had 12 points.
It was a sweet victory for F2 Logistics after losing to Petron in the All-Filipino Conference four months ago.
Cargo Movers coach Ramil de Jesus added another feather to his cap with his first PSL Grand Prix title after claiming the 2016 All-Filipino championship.
American import Hillary Hurley, who brushed hurt her right sprain in the second match, led Petron with 25 points with 22 kills in the two-hours and 19-minute match.
Prolific American hitter Lindsay Stalzer was limited to just nine points, while skipper Ces Molina chipped in eight.
