F2 Logistics cruised to its second straight win in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix after defeating Sta. Lucia, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
American import Kennedy Bryan and Venezuelan reinforcement Maria Jose Perez combined for 25 points for the Cargo Movers, who improved to 2-0.
Coming from a four-set win over powerhouse Petron on Saturday at Bacolod City, F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus admitted that lowly Sta. Lucia wasn’t an easy opponent.
“Itong Sta. Lucia, hindi madaling kalaban siguro naunahan lang namin or matter of breaks lang siguro,” he said. “Hindi biro pag nasa harap mo na yung mga imports, then three imports sila actually four pa nga andyan pa ‘yung (MJ) Phillips.”
“So hindi madaling kalaban, hindi mo pwedeng biru-biruin, so talagang disiplina dapat pagdating sa loob ng court,” he added.
F2 Logistics overcame an 18-22 deficit in the third set with a 4-0 spurt to tie the game. Ukranian import Bohdana Anisova’s attack error gave the Cargo Movers the upper hand but Des Cheng’s service error tied the contest, 23-23.
Canadian reinforcement Marisa Field pushed F2 Logistics at match point after her service error and Kim Dy’s block on Anisova sealed the win for the Cargo Movers.
Anisova finished with 14 points for the Lady Realtors, who dropped to 0-3.
