    Nov 22, 2016

GENERAL Trias, Cavite -- F2 Logistics clobbered RC Cola Army, 25-13, 25-21, 25-11, to end the elimination round on a high note in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Tuesday at General Trias Sports Center here.

American imports Hayley Spelman and Sydney Kemper led the way for the Cargo Movers with 18 and 10 points, respectively.

The All-Filipino conference champion improved to 7-3 and ended up third, facing sixth seed Cignal in the playoff round on Saturday.

"Sabi ko sa mga bata ang totoong giyera sa Sabado ang start," said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus. "So ito parang tune-up game, the real battle is on Saturday."

Local players also stepped up for the Cargo Movers as Ara Galang added eight markers, Mika Reyes had six and Kim Fajardo chipped in five points with eight excellent sets.

F2 Logistics capitalized on RC Cola Army's poor reception as it rained down 17 service aces in a match that took an hour and 14 minutes to finish.

The Lady Troopers struggled offensively, as no player scored in double figures.

Jovelyn Gonzaga was limited to six points, while American imports Hailie Ripley and Kierra Holst had four markers each.

RC Cola Army dropped to 3-6 at the fourth spot and will face No. 5 seed Generika in the next stage.
